These glass sculptures perfectly imitate bags filled with water

Some artists are particularly talented when it comes to creating illusions more real than nature. And the sculptor we are going to present to you today is a master in this matter. Based in White Salmon, in the state of Washington, Dylan Martinez juggle permanently between reality and illusion.

And for good reason : the incredible bags filled with water that you can discover below are from the different works of the artist and are actually ... glass sculptures striking realism. A fascinating work of precision that requires a methodical and creative approach. To give life to his works, Dylan Martinez begins by carving the glass that appears in each bag, and that gives the illusion of being water. He then adds a bubble of blown glass on the top which is then smoothed and carved by hand to give the illusion of a closed bag. Once the work is done, the sculpture is placed in an oven at more than 500 ° C. The sculpture must then cool during 120 hours.

Dylan Martinez explains that he was born colorblindwhich allows him to see the world in another way and, according to him, to feed his creative spirit. Finally, if you have the chance to go through Chicago, know that it will open the July 13 next solo show at the Echt Gallery where you can discover its fascinating sculptures.
