Towers transformed into impressive vertical forests

When nature takes back its rights: it is a little the credo of this new architectural project developed by the Italian Stefano Boeri. The latter imagined the creation of two gigantic vertical forests that would take place on two huge towers, in the city of Nanjing in China.

Two towers over 100 meters long would be covered with plants to make them the two most impressive vertical forests in the world. This project is expected to be completed by 2018, with no less than 1,000 trees and 2,500 shrubs. Beyond the aesthetic and natural aspect, it is mainly a major ecological project. It is estimated that this vertical forest would be capable of producing 132 pounds of oxygen per day by absorbing carbon dioxide. A beautiful project that should be democratized in several cities of the world in the future.
